Berlin, Germany

Your role

You will be working at an early-stage start-up that aims to tackle one of humanity’s biggest challenges: reversing climate change. As Head of Engineering, you will get the chance to shape the development of the Engineering team, while also proactively design, implement and test prototypes in quick iterations yourself. You will work closely with our CTO Silvain and our Head of R&D Andrew to bring the products from concept all the way to mass manufacturing and installations at customers’ sites. First, by providing hands-on support to the R&D team to make sure designs are state-of-the-art and optimized for assembly at scale. Then, by being responsible for production, defining required specifications and building relationships with the most relevant suppliers and manufacturing partners. All in all, you will ensure compatibility with efficiency, regulatory and customer constraints; as well as identify and coordinate all production stakeholders to keep quality high and projects on-time and on-budget.

What you will do

  • Bring product concepts from TRL4 to TRL8
  • Work in close contact with the Product team to optimize components and equipments between function, manufacturability, quality, deployment time, operational costs, and capital investment
  • Get creative and hands-on to rapidly help design, build, and validate proof of concept prototypes
  • Weigh the cost, performance, and schedule trade-offs associated with different manufacturing processes, and build our network of suppliers and manufacturing partners
  • Coordinate stakeholders for manufacturing, including defining and communicating technical specifications, timelines and budget to ensure project success
  • Guarantee products and processes are in compliance with standards, policies, regulations, and code
  • Develop standards and processes as a foundation for how the Engineering team operates
  • Approach work with open mind and flexibility. You will work in an environment of rapid learning and adjustment

  • Experience in industrial certification processes
  • Experience with reactors and other chemical plant equipment is a plus
  • Interdisciplinary value-driven individual with good organization and communication skills, along with a passion for innovation, startups and climate
  • As we will enter the German market first, speaking German is necessary
