Senior Business Development Manager

Your role

You will join our innovative and rapidly growing clean tech start-up as a Senior Business Development Manager and play a vital role in addressing one of humanity's most pressing challenges and pave the way for a carbon negative future. As Senior Business Development Manager, you will play a key role in commercializing our cutting-edge Direct Air Capture (DAC) product which harnesses the potential of industrial infrastructure to scale fast and decrease costs. You will help to shape the strategy of the company from a business standpoint, for example defining the relevant go-to-market strategy, generating leads, etc. We have secured our first major industrial client and are currently validating the technology in the field. So far, we secured two financing rounds, are backed by four VCs, and we are about to receive several large grants from the German government and the EU. What you will do

  • Working close with our CEO René on the strategic direction of NeoCarbon, with a special focus on go-to-market to prepare for our series A
  • Define the go-to-market strategy, focusing on the industries that we have validated (carbonated drinks, greenhouses, cement, waste incineration, etc.)
  • Convince carbon removal credit purchasers (Microsoft, Stripe, Shopify, etc.) to support our projects in the field
  • Become the first point of contact for external stakeholders, such as pilot partners, carbon credit buyers, politicians
  • Reach out to various industries to secure pilots and to deploy our first industrial installations
  • Lead our Business Development team

What we are looking for

  • University degree in Business Administration or related disciplines
  • 5+ years of experience in selling DeepTech hardware projects to industrial clients, ideally in cement, waste incineration or the chemical industry
  • Fluent in German and English
  • Very structured work style and a good understanding of all relevant KPIs for investor reporting
  • Open personality and ability to win people for your project after the first conversation
  • Hands-on, entrepreneurial mindset to come up with own ideas and ability to execute them proactively
  • Experience in presenting company presentations on stage at relevant industry events
  • Interest in future hires planning for the business team, also leading by example
  • Passion for discussing with people and convincing them with your energy
  • Experience in standard sales and CRM tools (e.g. Pipedrive)
  • Strong intrinsic motivation to tackle the climate crisis
